Modern roof line and black + wood exterior home | New Build
In my previous blog post, I talked about MODERN EXTERIOR OPTIONS and how we asked our draftsman, Tony, to draw up an idea I had for a modern roofline for the new house. Well, we received our 3d exterior sketch so I have to share!

Here’s the sketch I had done (many of you like the black + wood exterior combo vs all black exterior) and sent Tony to draw up:

HERE IS WHAT HE SENT US TODAY! I LOVE IT! Here’s the front view of this modern exterior.
It’s broken up into 3 different sections for more depth. Here’s a better look (**and a new 3D image we received on 4/20/21):
With this drawing below, you get a look of the back side of the house exterior that includes the screened in porch. You can read our CHANGES FOR THE NEW BUILD and learn that sometimes “do it later” may never actually happen. Oh the things you realize after building a house!
I’m still debating on if I want to do all black exterior or a black and wood combo like these images or do a wood accent on the front porch only. UGH…I like how all 3 options look!
What do you think? 1) Wood on the center portion of the house like in these images OR 2) wood in the front covered porch only?

I love these images and would keep it similar vs just the porch area. It adds depth to the all black. So fun.

The idea of the wood accent porch would help draw a person’s eye to where the entry is. And also, black chairs, rockers or a bench would really stand out against the wood accent. I just think there is more options for porch decor with the wood accent being on the front porch. Just my thoughts. Have fun with it all!
