Tour of Remodeled Homes (Des Moines, IA) 2019

I’m so glad HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION OF DES MOINES let me know of the TOUR OF REMODELED HOMES! Unfortunately after a busy weekend of kids’ activities, we only had 1.5 hours to look at a few houses on Sunday.

I wanted to show you a glimpse of what we had seen! I love seeing the transformation of a house, the change of design, the updated features, etc. This is definitely different from the last tour I did so make sure to check out my blog post about the DES MOINES HOME SHOW EXPO from a few months ago!

First up is a house remodeled by ZENITH DESIGN + BUILD. I sure love the updated black and wood exterior!

Love the cement tiles with the exposed brick!

On the other side of that wall on the left is the stairs. The windows that you see are located on the front of the house.

AFTER:

They tore out the wall and moved the stairs by the windows located on the front of the house.

BEFORE: Do you see that closet at the end of the hallway?…

AFTER: …They closed it off so there’s no access from the hallway and turned it into a bathroom for one of the bedrooms!

The other house we walked into was remodeled by SILENT RIVERS DESIGN + BUILD.

What a difference it made with the black fireplace!

I love how they opened up the kitchen and included an island with seating to mimic the seating area that was originally next to the window!
