LIFE UPDATE!
Many of you have noticed that I’ve been a bit MIA especially on Instagram Stories. Well, a lot is happening! I have 3 updates for you!
1 // I feel like I just wrote the blog post “HAVE YOU SOLD YOUR HOUSE?” , and now I’m here writing a blog post that WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!! We actually received an offer on my birthday (January 15th) and accepted. Talk about a great birthday present! As much as I wanted our house sold sooner rather than later, I always knew God’s timing would be perfect and sure enough everything seems to be lining up perfectly! What a relief that we’ll be moving when it’s nice out.. it’s supposed to be 57 and 64 degrees this weekend! That’s perfect spring weather here in Iowa!
Our last night at the house is 3/9…. I’ve already shed some tears. I know, I know.. it’s just a house, but this house has a special place in my heart. It’s the first house we ever built, and also the first house we built ourselves. What I’m really going to miss the most is all the memories we made over the past 2 years living here. The holidays with our extended families, birthday parties, dance parties, movie nights, being stuck in the house during the pandemic last year, watching a church service from home in our pajamas, our backyard view in the morning and evening, Easter egg hunts, scavenger hunt, etc.
2 // We have a walk through at the rental tomorrow (3/4) and will be moving a lot of our stuff into the rental this weekend. We’ve been busy packing, packing, and packing. That’s why I’ve been MIA in documenting my days because packing isn’t all that exciting. 😉 My mom helped me pack because I’m a worthless packer …lol.., but also I get overwhelmed easily. I have so many things I can do for work so she makes me put my phone away so I can get sh*t done. I’ve gotten rid of a lot of items. When I dropped off my mom back to Pella, my SUV was filled with bags of items for her, my sisters, and relatives to go through. It felt so good getting rid of items that we didn’t need or haven’t used since we moved in 2 years ago.
3 // I had mentioned before how we have to wait until Niña and Nick’s land is developed for Blaine and I to build. Originally we were told it won’t be until late summer… maybe August until we can break ground. Well we have some BIG news! We don’t have to wait! If you’re new and are wondering why we are building again, Niña (my twin sister) and I have always wanted to be next door neighbors. Well, they have a spot for us on their property which means our dream is coming true!
We are starting the building process….AAAHHH!! I’m excited and anxious all at the same time. I actually think I’m still traumatized from this last time we built. 😉 It was an exciting adventure, but it was also a lot of STRESS. I thought I would have more time to prep and plan for this new build, but I thought wrong! I’m currently in design mode trying to figure out what this new house is going to look like!
If you’re curious how the kids are doing, they are actually excited about moving! Our rental is in town so they know that means they don’t have to be in the vehicle as much to go to school/games/practices, and they don’t have to wake up as early for school. This is a relief for me since I have a kid that drives.. Winter gravel roads can be a bit scary! The kids also know the sooner we get done building, the sooner they’ll be closer to their cousins since we’ll be building literally right across the street from them. They’re so excited for that because my kids and Niña’s kids always want to hang out together. Let’s just say every weekend, the kids are always spending the night at each other’s houses.
We have already started the building process which I will get more into later. Make sure you’ve SUBSCRIBED so you don’t miss the updates and the rental pics!
I have so many mixed emotions with everything going on. I’m happy, excited, sad, anxious, nervous, etc. You name it, I’m feeling it, but I know God wouldn’t give us more than we can handle. Here’s to our next family adventure!
