INSTA-FAMOUS FAVORITE SOUP
When I shared my family’s “favorite soup” recipe, I didn’t think it’d be such a hit for so many of your families. I’m so glad you all are trying it and loving it! I actually got the recipe from my MIL so I did not create this. Our family truly calls it “favorite soup,” and we have it once a week all year. It’s so darn easy to make, and it’s delicious too! INGREDIENTS
1 bag of cheese tortellini from the refrigerated section (we add extra because the kids love pasta)
1 small bag of fresh spinach
1 or 2 cans of Italian style diced tomatoes or fire roasted tomatoes
1 box (32 fl oz) of chicken broth (we do 1.5 boxes since we add extra cheese tortellini)
1 block of 8oz cream cheese
1 lb of roll sausage (Italian or pork breakfast)
DIRECTIONS for crockpot
// Brown the sausage and put all ingredients in crockpot EXCEPT spinach and pasta
// Cook on low for 5-6 hrs
// 30 minutes before serving put spinach and pasta in crockpot
DIRECTIONS for stockpot on cooktop
// Brown the sausage and put all ingredients in stockpot EXCEPT spinach and pasta
// Cook on medium/high heat for about 20 min until cream cheese is melted. Stir occasionally.
// Add pasta and spinach and cook for about 4-5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
**For the instant pot, choose the soup option. Put everything in there except the pasta and spinach. Once it’s done, add the pasta and spinach. Depending on the pasta, you’ll have to leave it in there at a certain time to cook.
