Favorite Soup in Instant Pot
This post is sponsored by Walmart but all opinions are my own.
It’s soup season! š Soups are perfect for the fall, and I wanted to share our family’s “favorite soup,” and it seems to be many of your family’s favorite now too! Plus, my husband and I are busy taking kids to practices that there’s not much time to make dinner. Love how this is easy!
We like to get a bang for our buck (who doesn’t?!) and this meal cost about $17 to feed our entire family when shopping at Walmart! I made some easy swaps by picking the Walmart Brands (Great Value, Sam’s Choice, and Freshness Guaranteed).
I’m sure many of you are busy and the last thing you want to do is roam around the grocery store. Lucky for us, you can order your groceries online for pickup and delivery! (New customers can use code TRIPLE10 to save $10 off your first three pickup or delivery orders. $50 min. Restrictions & fees apply.)
Even with the swaps to Walmart brands, the kids ate their entire bowl of soup and had multiple helpings last night. I guess they loved it. š Can I also mention, how good the french bread was? We were fighting over who was going to get the last slice..ha!
INGREDIENTS
– 1 bag of cheese tortellini and will sometimes add extra because the kids love pasta (I chose cheese ravioli this time to to try. It tasted great with the soup, but it’s much easier to eat the soup with the cheese tortellini. The ravioli that I bought is bigger in size so you had to cut it to fit on the spoon.)
– 1 small bag of fresh spinach
– 1 or 2 cans of Italian style diced tomatoes or fire roasted tomatoes
– 1 box (32 fl oz) of chicken broth (we do 1.5 boxes since we add extra pasta)
– 1 block of 8oz cream cheese
– 1 lb of roll sausage (Italian or pork breakfast)
DIRECTIONS
// Brown the sausage. Put all ingredients in Instant Pot except spinach and pasta
// Press the “soup/broth” button
// Once done, add pasta to the Instant Pot. Let pasta cook for about 5-10 minutes (depending on what pasta you have) before serving. You can also add the spinach the same time as when you add the pasta, but since the kids don’t want the spinach, my husband and I just top our bowl of soup with spinach.
Enjoy with some french bread and butter!
