Dermaplaning. This is a beauty trend that more and more people are doing. A couple months ago, I mentioned on my INSTAGRAM stories that this is something I’ve been doing. I got some questions on what exactly dermaplaning is. Well, you’re pretty much shaving your face. 😉
Once a week, I am dermaplaning my skin. I was using the TINKLE RAZORS but had switched to this SPA SCIENCES SIMA TOOL which still does a great job but has been more gentle than the Tinkle Razors. It helps exfoliate my skin and removes buildup… Buh-bye dull skin! It also removes peach fuzz which makes my makeup go on smoother. I’m telling you, it makes a HUGE difference!
When I posted about this on INSTAGRAM, many of you asked about how the hair grows back. I’ve been doing this for a long time and in my own personal experience, my hair does not grow back thicker. The reality is that you don’t realize how much hair your face has until you do this treatment. It’s amazing how soft and smooth my skin is afterwards. It’s a real game-changer, and I know exactly why this beauty trend has been so popular!
Some of you have also mentioned that you want to do this but are nervous. I totally get it! I was nervous my first time too! Here are some tips that have worked for me:
>Before dermaplaning, wash your face so you have clean skin.
>Apply a facial oil before dermaplaning so the blade smoothly glides on skin. Here are some facial oils/serums that I recommend: BIOSSANCE, PRIMALLY PURE (use code CECILIA10 for 10% off), or BEAUTYCOUNTER.
>Go slow and take your time using light strokes.
>I don’t go over an area more than twice. You don’t want to over due it!
>I do this treatment once a week and at night so I’m not applying makeup afterwards.
You’ll soon realize how easy and quick this treatment is. The main areas I shave are my jaw, cheekbone, chin, upper lip, and temple area. I skip my forehead, nose, and under my eye.
Let me know if you are already on top of this beauty trend or you plan on trying it!
