Ziti Pasta Dish in Instant Pot (One Pot Meal)
This post is sponsored by Walmart but all opinions are my own.
With kids activities keeping us busy in the evening, we need easy meals. Plus with our family of 6, we need something that’s affordable and will feed all of these hungry kids!
This meal cost about $14 to feed our entire family when shopping at Walmart! When shopping, I made some easy swaps by picking the Walmart Brands (Great Value, Sam’s Choice, and Freshness Guaranteed). With these swaps, everyone ate their dish plus seconds! The only reason why we had leftovers is because Mariah wanted to bring some to school for lunch.
A friendly reminder that you can order your groceries online for pickup and delivery! (New customers can use code TRIPLE10 to save $10 off your first three pickup or delivery orders. $50 min. Restrictions & fees apply.)
INGREDIENTS (I do a lot of winging it and don’t measure so I’ll give you about an approximate)
–garlic powder (I used about a teaspoon)
-1 lb of ground beef or Italian sausage
-1-2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
-24 oz. pasta sauce
–beef broth (I used about all of the 32 oz container)
-16 oz ziti pasta (I used 1.5 boxes)
-salt
-pepper
-Italian seasoning if using ground beef
DIRECTIONS
//Brown meat using the “saute” setting on Instant Pot
//Add garlic powder, salt, pepper (add Italian seasoning if using ground beef)
//Pour beef broth
//Make sure to scrape any brown meat stuck on the bottom. You don’t want to cause a “burning warning” while it’s cooking in the Instant Pot.
//Add pasta in an even layer. (don’t stir)
//Top with pasta sauce covering the pasta. (don’t stir)
//Close the lid and press “Pressure Cook” on Instant Pot. Make sure to set timer down to either 2 or 3 minutes. Any longer, your pasta will probably be mushy.
//Once it’s done cooking and the time is up, I manually released the pressure (see instructions if you don’t know how to do this).
//Once all the pressure is released, open the lid and stir the pasta.
//Add cheese and close lid and let cheese sit there for about 3 minutes or until melted.
//Serve and enjoy!
I made our FAVORITE SOUP in the Instant Pot, make sure to try that if you haven’t yet!
