What goes around comes around…
My twin sister (Niña) and her husband moved into their home a couple months ago, and they cannot get internet to their home until the area is developed. They both work from home and have 4 kids. It’s been a struggle they said.
When we moved into our rental, I was rubbing in Niña’s face that we had internet right when we moved in. (Gotta love that sisterly love😉) Well, I regret rubbing it in her face.
Last Friday, we lost internet around noon. We found out that someone from centurylink disconnected ours to connect another unit… on accident. UGH. Thankfully, we were leaving Sunday around 3-4am for spring break so they could fix it while we were gone. That’s not where the story ends…
We are still in Florida, but we were supposed to get internet in our townhome today. Well, we found out centurylink can’t do anything because there isn’t enough ports in the area. We have no idea when we’ll get internet again! Our landlord thankfully said she bought us a hotspot, but I’m not sure how long that’s going to last.
Blaine and I both work from home, and we have 4 kids. We also don’t have cable because we have Hulu that runs on INTERNET.
What in the world are we going to do without internet?! Ok that’s a bit overdramatic, but Blaine and I have jobs that rely on it since we both work from home. At least, the weather will be nicer here so the kids will be outside more anyway, but my sons enjoy playing Fortnite and watching on YouTube. Time to go to the library and grab some books and bust out the dvds to watch movies!
Everyone send us some positive vibes. We can’t catch a break. Lesson learned for me.. don’t rub something in your sister’s face because it can very well happen to you. Just so you know…Niña doesn’t feel sorry for us one bit. 🤪

I learned the hard way that getting internet isn’t “easy” we couldn’t get century link to even show up and then when they did they quoted us $400 to bury the line to our house, then $100.00 for equipment, then $69.00 a month, and they didn’t show up for 6 full weeks and then I called and they said they had no record of anyone coming out. And all that for 8mbps which probably never would have worked. We found out the day before we started working from home in our new house that AT&T sells a mobile hotspot plan that is really good. Now that is what my husband and I use while working from Home full time. It’s 100gb and costs $100.00 a month. If you go over the 100gb you pay extra but the speed is really good (usually 45mbps-60mbps). We won’t get CenturyLink at all because the experience was awful. Also StarLink is out in the Midwest!
