Here are some of the questions you had asked on INSTAGRAM.
If you wouldn’t have become a blogger, what career would you have pursued?
I actually wanted to be an artist when I was younger. I loved drawing, painting, and creating, but someone told me that artists didn’t make much money so I took an interior design class in high school to see if I liked it. I did like it, and that’s when I decided to get my college degree in that. I love what I do as a blogger but it would be pretty cool to be an artist and focus on creating pieces of work for others to have in their home. I’m only 36 so who knows what the future holds! Would people even buy it though?! LOL!
Favorite part of the new house?!
Kitchen and dining area! I love the combo of wood tones, black, and white and it has all of that in the space which makes me happy. π Plus, we’re always in this space!
Something you want to get better at?
Being organized and simplifying my life so I don’t have so much “stuff.”
Appetizers or desserts?
Desserts for sure. It’s my weakness. I can totally skip the appetizer and just have a bigger dinner…LOL.
Do you have any tattoos?
Lower back. Cross with a tribal design on each side. One of those college decisions… π
How do you keep eyeliner from smudging
Lately I haven’t been using eyeliner. If I do want an eyeliner look, I actually use a really dark eyeshadow using a precision brush.
If you could omit one thing about the holiday season what would it be?
That’s a great question! I would have to say the toys and the pressure that parents put on themselves for their kids to have everything they want. For me it’s just more stuff that’s going to be in the toy room not being played with a few months after they open it. It’s hard because I feel like my kids don’t really need anything. That’s why I love doing the 4 gifts for each child…ONE thing they want, ONE thing they need, ONE thing they read, and ONE thing they wear. If you haven’t tried this… I would try it this year!
Do you prefer hosting or being a guest?
That’s a tough one. BOTH! π As I get older, I have enjoyed hosting and having people over in our home. What I love about being a guest is that I don’t have to clean up in the kitchen. Can I get an AMEN?! Haha!
Favorite Christmas album?
Is this even a question?! NSYNC of course!! Favorite song is:
Who did you go with to build your house?
We actually didn’t use a builder. My brother-in-law (Nick) was our general contractor, and my husband (Blaine) helped him as well. Blaine actually did some of the work in the house. Here he is below.
What does blaine do for work?
Check out this Q+A post which answers that question!
