Last weekend was a BUSY weekend! On Saturday was the school’s PARENT PROM event! It’s a fundraiser to help raise money for the kids’ elementary school. The parents get dressed up and have a night of fun with food, games, dancing, drinking, and mingling! Last year’s Parent Prom was so fun, and we helped raise over $12,000 for the elementary school! So amazing!!
I grew up in Pella and loved growing up in a small town. I’m so glad my kids get to experience something similar in the very small town we currently live in! Not only have our kids developed great friendships, the parents have as well!
Here are a few photos from last year’s 2020 parent prom:
This year’s 2021 Parent Prom was a Kentucky Derby theme. We met at our friend’s house and tackled one prom must have… a group photo of the ladies 😉 . (Niña didn’t make the cut because she was late.)
We then got on the bus that fit our entire crew.
Find a man who will get you a drink freaky fast….LOL!
Look who kept facetiming me! Mariah called me a handful of times to ask when we were going to be home.
The event was at the Winterset Cidery. Since there was rain in the forecast, there was a tent at the event. Rain wasn’t going to stop Parent Prom from happening!
They had a selfie station available so you better believe we (or I should say ‘I’) took full advantage of it!
Here are some more selfie photos:
Parent Prom was a success! Thanks to the volunteers and the sponsors who made this possible. I can’t wait to find out how much we raised this year for our kids’ elementary school!
The next day was Mother’s Day. I had breakfast in bed and got to read love notes from my kids. They made me smile, laugh, and of course cry because I’m a cry baby. Blaine also helped schedule a massage for me to enjoy a massage on Mother’s Day.
I’m so thankful for these four and blessed that God chose me for them! They make me a better person.
Later that day, I watched Coach Dad and Lennon’s soccer game. They won! Proud of their team for working hard and so far are undefeated this season.
For lunch, Niña and I had Chipotle (our fave) and ate in my vehicle together since they don’t let people eat inside yet. Yup, lunch date in the vehicle in the Chipotle parking lot…lol. I then left to get my one hour massage.
Every year for Mother’s Day, I get some photos taken of me with the kids. All day, Blaine was asking me “When did you want your photos taken?” He’s so sweet for asking and knowing the only thing I request on Mother’s Day. This is the only time during the year that there’s no complaining from the kids that they have to wear non athletic clothes and no complaining that they have to get photos taken. WOOHOO!!
They decided it was a great idea to tickle me…
For the weekly Moyer/Williams Sunday dinner, Blaine and Nick picked up PF Chang’s. I got my fave from there…mongolian beef and lettuce wraps. PF Chang’s even gave me a Mother’s Day card. 😉 Not shown, bubble tea that Nick got me. Blaine and Nick know the way to mine and Niña’s heart….FOOD and DRINKS!
I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day! If no one has told you yet… YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB BEING A MOM!
