Pantry Organization
Does anyone else want to organize everything in their home because it’s the new year?! Well, I do! The pantry is what I wanted to tackle first! Food were in baskets but weren’t organized and not grouped specifically together. We also have small appliances that we have not used since we moved in at the end of last summer. Plus, there are lots of wasted space since I don’t have any stackable storage containers.
WALMART always has a great selection at a low price so I got everything there! I was really excited to see that THE HOME EDIT storage containers are now available are exclusive to Walmart! I definitely recommend them! These Home Edit items are priced so great and are high quality!
I also grabbed some 106 OZ GLASS JAR CANISTERS and 67 OZ GLASS JAR CANISTERS for cereal, baking products, rice, and pasta. I’m assuming many of you are wondering why glass… I’m trying to eliminate as many plastic food containers in the house and this is the easiest swap. We even use GLASS CONTAINERS for storing leftovers.
Better Homes & Gardens have wooden crates (LARGE and SMALL) which I thought would be perfect to store fruits, vegetables, bread, and large bags of chips. I then saw these Better Homes & Gardens GLASS CANISTERS WITH WOOD LID which went perfect with the wood crates, so I decided to buy them as well for small candy and salt & pepper.
Here’s a photo of the before:
The first thing I did was laid out all the storage pieces I had.
I wasn’t sure if I had enough or too many items. Before washing any canisters, I took everything out of the pantry and determined which food items were going inside which size canister.
Mariah was such a great helper organizing the pantry! She loved every minute of it and got the job done quick!
Tackling this pantry organization project made me go through everything that was in the pantry. I threw away any expired items.. and bags that had nothing inside of them. I guess my kids forget that if you eat all of it, you don’t leave the box in the pantry. 😉
I posted a video on INSTAGRAM (make sure you’re “following” me on there for tutorials, sale finds, and random fun)!
The Home Edit TURNTABLE is so handy for spices!
I’m so happy with how the pantry turned out! I’m probably going to eventually put labels on the jars, storage containers, and baskets using my CRICUT JOY. We also want to eventually put cabinets and wood open shelves in this pantry. That project is for another time. 😉 Stay tuned!
Thank you Walmart, one of my favorite brands, for sponsoring this post!
