DIY Sponge Wall
I was so excited when Niña asked me if I had any paint projects I wanted to get done. I’ve been wanting to do a sponge wall in the foyer and this helped motivate me to get it checked off my long to-do list!
Here is what it looked like before we painted:
She had me choose from the Magnolia Home Collection at Ace Hardware. You all know I love black and white! 😉 Niña’s only request was not BLACK…haha! So I ended up choosing Olive Grove. I knew it would go perfect especially with the artwork over in the chalkboard station.
As you can tell, I was pretty excited about this project!
All you’ll need are sponges, paint, paper plate to put paint on, a damp rag in case any paint drips, level, and a tape measure if you wish.
I started on one end. Mainly eye balling really but making sure the lines were at least level.. so far so good!
If anyone is wondering, I did all of the work and Niña documented…haha! She was a great cheerleader. 😀
A couple tips for you is to make sure you don’t put too much paint on the sponge. If you do, it’ll drip. In case you get some drips, have a damp rag and wipe it off.
Once we were done, Niña and I started decorating! I wanted some hooks for our guests to hang their coats, but didn’t want anything too bulky.
