I can’t believe that another year of dance is done! I admit, I love how Mariah is in dance. One of my favorite memories in high school was being on the dance team. Ok, I’ll say it…I’m secretly reliving through my daughter.
This year was Mariah’s first year being on The Dance Avenue‘s competition dance team. She is on the Super Mini team, and they performed to the cutest dance to “Black Magic.”
Here’s a recap of Mariah’s year of dance…
This was when they had dress rehearsal and danced in their costumes for the first time as a team.
Then it was time to compete! Her first competition was in West Des Moines, Iowa.
The second competition was in Independence, MO. I had to attend a conference in Arizona that same weekend so Blaine took charge as Dance Dad. How sexy! 😉 He did it without even complaining and had the 3 boys too! After she performed, they headed to a Sporting KC soccer game before heading home.
Her last competition was in Ames, Iowa!
Now time to end the season with the Legends and Divas 2019 recital! Mariah ended up putting together some gifts for her friends on the Super Mini team. We grabbed everything from Target. I linked everything I bought HERE if you want to do something similar. They only have the white stripe straws online, but the store had pink ones available. These would make great party gifts, and after breaking it down each gift was probably around $3!
Mariah was so excited to put this together and couldn’t wait to give them to her friends! These turned out so cute!
I had a mini panic attack the first night of recital. On the way there, I thought in my head “gosh, I hope I didn’t forget anything.” Well once I got to the performance center, I realized I forgot her dance bag full of shoes that were on the kitchen counter. Blaine had to hurry home to grab it. Don’t worry, I got her backstage just in time! Phew! If there’s such a thing as a hotmess dance mom, it would be me.
She was in 5 dances each night. I’m so proud of her and every single one of the dancers that went on stage!
Here she is greeted by her fans after her performances. Daddy is so proud of her!
Yup, she uses BEAUTYCOUNTER products! I want her to know about clean beauty at a young age. 🙂 We were given a list of makeup to use, and I matched each color given with a Beautycounter product. I was actually pretty proud of myself! LOL!
Niña and I love that our daughters are both in dance and at the same dance studio!
We then grabbed some ice cream at McDonald’s! This was probably the fanciest McDonald’s I’ve ever been to!
Now onto the second night of recital!
Here she is with her favorite people! One of them being Miss Amber!
After her 5 performances, daddy swept her off her feet and gave her a cute little turtle… even though we don’t need anymore stuffed animals in the house. 😉
My niece, Johannah, has been such a great role model for Mariah!
Can’t wait for next season!
