Chalkboard “Favorite Things” Wall
I had done a stencil project in Lennon’s bedroom last year (see photo below). After about a year, I decided it was time to do something that shows that it’s a kids bedroom. Lennon loves sports and playing Fortnite so I knew I wanted to incorporate that. I then thought… how about a chalkboard wall?! Then if for some reason in a few years he is not into Fortnite anymore, I can just erase it! Also, I had plenty of paint left from the CHALKBOARD STATION in the foyer so this project was perfect!
My husband and my friends on social media couldn’t believe I was going to paint over this stencil wall since it took awhile to finish. Yes, I am crazy!
(The two beds are from a bunkbed that we took apart. The extra bed comes in handy when my nieces and nephews spend the night.)
First, I had the kids help out and paint the wall. The paint we used was BEHR – ULTRA PURE WHITE which is the white paint on the rest of the walls. Buh-bye stencil wall!
After that, I applied the CHALKBOARD PAINT. I had to do 2 coats to make sure no white paint was peeking through. I did have to buy another can of chalkboard paint to complete the 2 coats.
Once it was dry, Blaine hung up the 2 TRIANGLE SHELVES for me. I then added Lennon’s Fortnite toys as decor.
I bought some CHALK PENS and decided to draw Lennon’s favorite things instead of just sports and Fortnite! Yes, I did this all by hand. I do love drawing and had so much fun with this project! When Lennon walked in and saw his new wall, he was soooo excited and had a huge smile on his face. I would definitely consider this project a success! 😀 Now the other 2 littles want a chalkboard wall…haha!
